My Experience

I’m writing this post mainly to ensure others don’t make the same mistakes I did. You can make money with the PrizePicks promo, but you can also easily lose money. Here’s what to know:

Anything you deposit, you will have to bet through before you withdraw. This is called a 1x playthrough. So if you deposit $100, you’ll have to bet $100 before you can withdraw anything. (Side note: Some people say there is a 100% deposit match. As of this writing, that is false, and you’ll have to bet that $100 just to get it back.)
PrizePicks is a huge rip-off. For almost all of their bets, they take a 25%+ cut. This means you’ll want to deposit as little as possible so you have to bet as little as possible.
Therefore, for this promo, ONLY deposit $5. That means you’ll need to bet $55 ($5 deposit + $50 promotion).
Prize Picks works by letting you bet less/more on players’ stats for a given game. The lines are drawn so that each bets is essentially 50/50. They require you to submit a “lineup” with at least 2 players. The optimal strategy, as far as I can tell, is to only submit 2-player lineups and make as many different bets as possible to diversify. The minimum bet is $5, so you can make 11 $5 bets. All bets in the lineup need to hit for you to win. Consequently, each 2-person lineup has approximately a 25% chance of winning and pays out 3x your money. Obviously, nothing is guarenteed, but you should expect something in the ballpark of $41 winnings on your $55 of bets. Not a bad return for $5.
Once you’ve bet all $55, you can withdraw whatever you won back to your debit card. IMO, it deposits within a couple hours.

Here’s how to maximize your chances of winning more:

Take advantage of PrizePicks promotions. Every Tuesday, they release three discounted picks, called “Tacos”, which have a higher than 50% chance of winning. On Fridays, they’ll give you one “protected play”, which means that if you lose the bet, they’ll reimburse you for the amount you bet in promo funds. They have other promos periodically. You can learn about them on the Promos tab of the app, the PrizePicks Instagram, or the PrizePicks Discord Server. Sometimes, they’ll even give you a free bet.
Take the best odds. The lines are drawn to be approximately 50/50, but they’re not always exactly 50/50. Head over to DailyFantasyFuel and find the PrizePicks bets available with the highest odds. You don’t need a subscription to see the top few bets each day. You can usually find a few bets with over 54% chance of winning.
